2 Days in Sinharaja

A much loved destination for nature enthusiasts, the first schedule of the bird watching tour will consist of a trip the Sinharaja Rain Forest Reserve which will include afternoon and morning drives to experience some native as well as migratory birds that visit. A bio diversity hot spot, Sinharaja is a designated Biosphere Reserve and a World Heritage Site.

2 Days in Yala

Moving on to the Yala National Park which is considered as one of the most Important Bird Areas with endemic and native birds flying around while due to the park’s diverse landscape, there are water birds inhabiting Yala as well. You will go on a safari to Bundala National Park which is an important wintering ground for migratory water birds.

Morning leave for Thissamaharama for two nights. Check in at the hotel by lunch time. Afternoon visit Yala National Park by jeeps, the park consists of wetlands, and dry grasslands, scrublands and forest, looking for waterbirds, shorebirds, forest and nocturnal birds including some endemics, and also butterflies, Asian Elephant, Leopard, Sloth Bear and other forest mammals, and other wildlife. From Nuwara Eliya we drive to Kithulgala where you will be enjoying a visit to the Kithulgala Rainforest in a dugout canoe. Here, similar to the Sinharaja Forest Reserve, there are many native and endemic birds that you will come across when exploring the area. Birds that you may see include the Serendib Scops Owl the Ceylon Spurfowl etc

After breakfast drive to Kitulgala. Afternoon crossing the river by the rest house on dugout canoe to visit Kitulgala rainforest. Overnight stay at the rest house in Kitulgala.
