Polonnaruwa which is known for its historical monuments and temples is a haven for many who seek peace and tranquillity. Located in the dry zone, Polonnaruwa is nourished by the Parakrama Samudraya which is a massive man made tank. While many explore the old city we can organize a trip to the Primate Centre Lodge which was previously known as the Smithsonian Primate Research Station. Here, you can see many biologists at work, researching some of the native primates including the Slender Loris, Purple-faced Langur, Hanuman Langur and the Toque Macaque.
